October President's Message

Saturday, October 05, 2019 12:55 PM | Barry Pruitt (Administrator)

Dear Chapter Members,

I’d like to thank all of our members for their participation and enthusiasm at the 2019 Member Benefit Day. I always enjoy seeing and catching up with you at our events. I personally found the Social Media and Dark Web Investigations useful, and hope you had good takeaways as well. Thanks to all who kept up with our “Grand Baby-Watch Updates.”  We are pleased to announce Riley arrived at 2:26 AM on October 3rd.  Everyone is doing great!  I realize my grandpa status is official because my main incentive to work is to afford airline tickets to go spoil him in North Carolina.

As we grow our online social media presence, we need volunteers to serve on our   Chapter’s Social Media Committee.  We are looking for new ideas, content and the “wow-factor.” Anyone who enjoys social media and wants to get involved in the Chapter, this is the committee for you.  We are currently on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn.  I encourage all our members to follow our pages and share with friends and colleagues. If you are interested in this committee, email us at info@middletennesseecfe.org

It’s time to start compiling your points for the ACFE Global Fraud Conference Contest. The ACFE is hosting a Contract and Procurement Fraud Workshop on November 18-20 in Nashville.  This training is a great learning and networking opportunity.  I encourage you all register to attend.  Check out the link on our homepage for more information.

The next Chapter meeting is Thursday, October 17, 2019 at the Scarritt Bennett Center.  This will be a great opportunity to learn about health care fraud investigations.  Certified Fraud Examiner and Qlarant Vice President of Operations, Christopher Mabile, and Certified Fraud Examiner, Accredited Healthcare Fraud Investigator and UPICSW Senior Vice President and Program Director S. Scott Ward, will be our luncheon speakers. We met these guys at the ACFE Global Conference in Austin this year and invited them to speak at our luncheon.  I look forward to hearing their insight and we all have a lot to learn from them.  Be sure and sign up by Wednesday, October 9th.

And finally…

Be sure to regularly check out the “News” tab on our website homepage.  We have MBD presentation slides, job postings, and much more.

Thank you for all your efforts in making our Chapter thrive.

I’m Barry Pruitt, MTACFE President, and I approve this message.
