The Middle Tennessee Chapter of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners awards eight scholarships to outstanding Middle Tennessee* students pursuing a degree in accounting/finance, criminal justice, information technology, or a law-related major. The chapter will award the Donna Crutcher Memorial Scholarship to one high school student and one college student and award additional scholarships to runners up. The scholarships may range between $1,500 and $3,000.

Eligibility Requirements:

    •  **Students who will be graduating from high school in May/June 2025 or is currently enrolled or will be attending a college or university
    • Seeking a degree in accounting/finance, criminal justice, information technology, or a law-related major
    • Minimum 3.0 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale).

To apply:

1. Complete the SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION.

2. Attach current high school or college transcript.

3. Attach one letter of recommendation from non-relatives.

4. Attach an original 250–500 word essay on how fraud awareness will affect your career development and why you deserve the scholarship.
NOTE: Essays that do not address both components of the prompt will be disqualified.

5. The application and all attachments should be submitted together and RECEIVED no later than 5:00 PM Central Time on May 14, 2025.

    • ** Special consideration will be given to Middle Tennessee Chapter of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners members and their families.

    • Preference may be given to applicants who reside or plan to attend colleges or universities in Middle Tennessee to include the following counties: Bedford, Cannon, Cheatham, Clay, Coffee, Davidson, DeKalb, Dickson, Fentress, Franklin, Giles, Grundy, Hickman, Houston, Humphreys, Jackson, Lawrence, Lewis, Lincoln, Macon, Marshall, Maury, Montgomery, Moore, Overton, Perry, Pickett, Putnam, Robertson, Rutherford, Sequatchie, Smith, Stewart, Sumner, Trousdale, Van Buren, Warren, Wayne, White, Williamson and Wilson.

    • However, students who also reside in other parts of Tennessee, Southern Kentucky, Northern Alabama (near the Middle Tennessee area) or are attending colleges or universities in Middle Tennessee are also encouraged to apply.

    • Confirmation of enrollment in a college or university will be required prior to payment of funds.
