How Speakers are ChosenProposals are reviewed by a MTACFE committee. During the process, we vet the potential speaker, not their company or organization. The MTACFE expects the speaker to honor his or her commitment to present the proposed session at the event. The proposals are evaluated in whole or in part on the following criteria:

Does the MTACFE pay speakers? The MTACFE is a not-for-profit organization serving the anti-fraud community. With this in mind, the MTACFE allows speaker fees and honorariums for exceptional presenters. Does the MTACFE pay for speaker's travel cost and lodging? If you are selected, the MTACFE pays for reasonable transportation (economy air), limited overnight accommodations (dependent on travel point of origin and speaking slot), an Annual Conference Registration, and meals that are not provided during the conference in accordance with the Speaker Agreement. The MTACFE will assign a chapter member concierge to assist with travel plans, transportation, and lodging. Can I submit my presentation for more than one event? Absolutely, we welcome multiple submissions to try and find the perfect fit. Can I submit more than one submission? Yes, there is no limit on the number of submissions each person can submit. Do I have to be a CFE to present? No. While most of the subject matter experts who speak at our conferences are Certified Fraud Examiners, some are not. When will I find out if my proposal has been accepted? Typically, speakers will be notified 30 days after the submission deadline. What happens if my topic is not selected? Once all speakers for a conference have been confirmed, individuals whose topics were not selected are notified via email. Proposals are typically kept on file for two years and are revisited when the need arises for a particular topic. Do I have to pay for my conference registration? In appreciation for the hard work and effort, MTACFE offers speakers one complimentary registration for the conference. Complimentary registration is non-transferable nor can it be used as credit. Can I present with a co-presenter? Under certain circumstances the MTACFE does allow co-presenters. If you would like your session to be considered as one requiring a co-presenter, please include details about why you would like a co-presenter in your proposal, along with your co-presenters name and title. Your co-presenter will also have to submit the Call For Speaker Form. If selected, what will I need to provide? Selected speakers must provide upon notification of their selection the following: Short biography, Professional high-resolution headshot photograph (300x300, 300 dpi minimum), signed Speaker Agreement, PowerPoint Presentation (by due date in Speaker Agreement). Why do I have to sign a Speaker Agreement? The MTACFE Speaker Agreement allows us to clarify and manage expectations. The Agreement informs the speaker of deadlines and requirements. Can I incorporate videos or other media into my presentation? Yes, we encourage moderate usage of videos and other media in presentations. If you wish to use a video or other media, you must obtain all appropriate legal permissions. To ensure compatibility, you must submit all media to the MTACFE when slide sets are due. |
